More about TOYOTA HILUX
The TOYOTA HILUX has made a comeback to the Japan market for the second time after 13 years.
Toyota Japan Motor Corporation has once again proved that the long sabbatical was well deserved. It has returned with a new concept, expressing supremacy and enthusiasm through ‘Tough and Emotional’ as the design language.
In September 2017, Japanese citizens witnessed the debut of the eighth generation Toyota Hilux for the first time since 2004. Under the hood is a 2.4 liter straight-four diesel powered engine with a turbo. It has a capable 400NM of torque and maximum power output of 150ps. As has been the norm with recent Toyota models, the Hilux has upgraded interior coupled with Driver assistance systems like the Lane departure and collision monitor and avoidance systems.
The package is commonly referred to as the Toyota Safety sense system. The Toyota Hilux has a part time 4WD system. The driver can toggle between the 2WD and 4WD depending on the driving demands needed. The 6 speed automatic gear box is dedicated to ensuring you reach your destination.

The Toyota Hilux is in its 8th Generation since the first year of inception 1968. It has been in various other markets like Thailand, Singapore to name a few. In Japan, production ran from 1997 to 2005 where production ceased until resumption in 2017 September.
8th Generation – (GUN125) SEPT 2017-PRESENT
Under the hood is the 2.4 Liter diesel engine. Do you think it packs a punch? 150 ps and 400NM power of torque. Interesting about the Hilux is that the Toyota President and CEO Akio Toyoda intervened personally to ensure reengineering of the Hilux. The Chief engineer, Hiroki Nakajima, was entrusted with leading the development team that conducted extensive and dedicated research on the Hilux.
They have successfully designed a Hilux with a sleek appearance. It has a bulged front bumper for pedestrian safety features. The bumper is more agile and better suited for off-road use. The interior cabin has a sleek design with blue LED lights surrounding it.
For noise reduction, the Hilux has received an improved body structure. It has also received a new Dynamic Control Suspension and Body control System with Torque demand. This ensures your heavy load reaches the home stretch seamlessly.
Currently, the 2017 Hilux is attracting the lowest Import Duty tariffs, making the price generally affordable compared to similar models from different markets.
