LEXUS LX 570 is a full-size Lexus flagship model in its SUV Lineup.
Its first year of inception in to the market was 1996 as the J80 Series LX 450. It was powered by a 4.5 Liter inline six twin cam engine.
To befit a flagship SUV, the Lexus comes loaded with comfort features as a standard. These include; a signature air conditioning system, the Lexus Climate Concierge among other comfort features.
Since inception, the Lexus is now in its 4th generation. The Lexus shares the Toyota Land Cruiser Chassis but comes in a nice suit and a lot of comfort and luxury. This makes it’s the King of off-road. It is built for off-road but this is not the car you will see off-road.
It is built with an adjustable suspension, locking center diff, Crawl control system, various driving modes and is a dedicated 4WD
We have to appreciate the fact that this car has been on the political campaign trails in Kenya.
HISTORY AND SPECIFICATIONS OF LEXUS LX 570 FROM JAPAN
The Lexus LX570 is in its 4th Generation since the first year of inception in 1996.
1st Generation – (J80) 1996- 1997
This was the entry model series in the late 1995 and was available for production and sale in japan in 1996. It came as the LX 450 with a 4.5 Liter inline six engine. In the cabin, it was equipped with 3 row seats for 7 Passengers.
2nd Generation – (J100) 1998-2006
This series debuted in Los Angeles Auto show held in December 1997. Under the hood was a 4.7 V8 engine. This had a maximum power output 230hp which was upgraded later to 268hp. In 2002, Lexus added some tweaks to the interior and exterior of the car.
3rd Generation - (J200) 2007-2020
In 2007 April, Lexus revealed the all new Lexus 570 J200 Series. It was a complete overhaul that saw a new series in the market. The Suspension system was improved for better handling and comfort. As a standard, it came equipped with 20 Inch Alloy wheels. Also came with a keyless entry, added airbags for improved safety and adaptive front lights.
Between 2010 & 2015, the Lexus has seen 3 major facelifts. This saw a redesigned front grille and changes in rim designs.
The model has a capacity of 8 passengers.
4th Generation – (J310) Oct 2021-PRESENT
This is the most recent series. It is based on the J300w Land Cruiser. The manufacturer dropped the V8 engine in favour of the 3.4 Liter petrol and 3.3 L diesel V6 engines.
This engine produces 406 hp making it the most powerful engine under the hood of any Lexus. It also has a 10 Speed Automatic gearbox. This Lexus seats 7 passengers.
