VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN is a compact crossover SUV with five doors and a seating capacity for five and whose manufacturer is the German automaker Volkswagen.

Volkswagen Tiguan’s first year of inception is 2007 online but had been showcased at the LA Auto Show in 2006. Since then, the SUV has been through two generations.

The VW Tiguan is in its 2^nd Generation since the first year of inception in 2007.

1^st Generation – (5N; 2007)

This first generation was rolled out in June 2007 and has 2-row seating and 4-cylinder engines. The Tiguan was offered in different trim levels.

It saw major facelifts in 2012.

In this facelift, the headlights were made bolder and angular. Its performance was enhanced and interior trim revised with a three spoke steering wheel and gear selector.

2^nd Generation – (AD/DW; 2016)

This was show cased in the year 2015 at the Frankfurt International Motor Show. This came with better interior space and some more knee room for rear passengers. The rear seat can also be adjusted up to 180mm longitudinally.

There are 2 versions of it:

1.     The Normal wheel base (NWB) or Short Wheel Base  that has a seating capacity of 5

2.     The Long Wheel Base (LWB) that has a seating capacity of 7 since it has a third row seat.

Its facelift and updated version released in 2020, 30^th June and comes equipped with newly designed headlamps, radiator grille and broad bumper intake. It has an improved bonnet, LED tail lights and a nipped rear diffuser. On board the VW Tiguan is the VW Driver Assist feature that can take over the braking, acceleration and steering of the vehicle.
