Interior & Practicality
- V8 Center Console: The center console is designed to look like a V8 engine block, with buttons arranged in a V. The 2019 model replaces mechanical buttons with small display screens (like the AMG GT 4-Door).
- Hatchback Utility: Unlike the 911 or F-Type convertible, the AMG GT has a large rear hatch with 350 Litres of space. It can fit two golf bags, making it a viable grand tourer.
Fuel Efficiency & Ownership Costs
- Consumption: 7–9 km/l. Respectable for a V8 if driven gently in "Comfort" mode.
- Service: This is a specialized AMG product. The transaxle (gearbox at the rear) and dry-sump lubrication (on higher trims) require specialist care. Brake discs are huge and expensive.
Suitability for Kenyan Roads
Super Low: With less than 100mm clearance on some trims, it is lower than a smart phone. The long nose means you will scrape the front splitter on every speed bump unless you are extremely careful. It is strictly for the Southern Bypass and high-end estates.
