The 2019 Jeep Wrangler (JL) is not a car; it is a tool. It is the direct descendant of the WWII Willys Jeep. This JL generation (launched in 2018) refined the formula, making it livable on tarmac without sacrificing an inch of off-road capability. In Kenya, it is the ultimate "weekend warrior" vehicle. You drive it to the office on Friday, take the roof off on Saturday, and crawl up a mountain on Sunday.

The JL introduced a smaller, efficient turbo engine:

• 2.0L Turbo (Hurricane) STANDARD
  270 HP / 400 Nm. This 4-cylinder engine punches above its weight, offering more torque than the V6 at low RPMs. It is lighter, improving handling.
• 3.6L Pentastar V6
  285 HP / 352 Nm. The classic choice. It is naturally aspirated, linear, and simple to maintain. However, it is thirsty (6-7 km/l).

• Wash-Out Interior: The floor has drain plugs. You can literally hose out the mud after a day at Champagne Park.
• Wind Noise: Let's be honest—it is a brick. Wind noise at 100 km/h is loud, especially with the soft top. The hard top is better but still noisy compared to a Prado.

The Uconnect system is weather-sealed. Buttons are rubberized to resist moisture. It supports Off-Road Pages, showing pitch, roll, and drivetrain status on the screen.

• Consumption: 8–10 km/l (2.0L Turbo). Aerodynamics of a garden shed means fuel economy drops drastically above 100 km/h.
• Modifications: This is the most customizable car on earth. Lift kits, winches, and massive tyres are available locally but void your warranty and increase fuel consumption.

• Unstoppable: Solid axles front and rear + locking differentials (Rubicon) means it can traverse terrain that would break a crossover. Speed bumps are irrelevant.
• On-Road Handling: Steering is vague and loose (recirculating ball). It wanders in the lane, requiring constant correction on the highway.

Crash test scores are mediocre (3-4 stars) due to the removable doors and roof. Reliability is good, but watch for "Death Wobble" on modified suspensions.
