The 2025 Nissan UD Quon (also known as the UD Trucks Quon) is the heavy-duty truck designed for the driver. Originally replacing the Nissan Diesel "Big Thumb" in 2004, the 2nd Generation Quon launched in 2017 and received a major update in 2022/23. Now under the Isuzu umbrella (after leaving Volvo Group), it retains its focus on "Ultimate Dependability" (UD). It is famous for its ESCOT-VI automated manual transmission which drives like a passenger car.

The Quon uses the highly efficient GH11 engine series:

Disc Brakes: The Quon was one of the first heavy trucks to standardize disc brakes on all wheels. This provides superior stopping power on the steep descents of the Rift Valley compared to drum brakes. The chassis is robust but tuned for highway comfort rather than off-road quarry work.
