The 2024 Mitsubishi eK Space is the "Super Height Wagon" that maximizes every millimeter of the Kei car footprint. Launched in 2020 (as the 2nd Generation), this 2024 model features updated safety tech and refined styling. It is the sister car to the Nissan Roox. Unlike the standard eK Wagon, the "Space" variant features electric sliding doors and a ceiling so high a primary school child can stand up inside. It is designed for young families living in crowded cities.

Powered by the BR06 engine (Nissan-Mitsubishi joint venture):

• M / G (Non-Turbo): 52 HP. STANDARD Features a mild-hybrid system (SM21 motor) for smooth stop-start. Adequate for flat city roads.
• T (Turbo): 64 HP. If you live in hilly areas like Kiambu or carry heavy loads, this is mandatory. The torque boost (100 Nm) makes highway merging significantly safer.

• Rear Slide: The rear seats slide forward/backward by 320mm. This is huge. You can pull the child seat close to the driver or push it back for limousine legroom.
• Clean Air: Features a "Plasma Cluster" air purifier (on high trims) to keep the cabin air fresh and free of viruses/odors.

• Consumption: 18–20 km/l. The tall body creates drag, so it is slightly less efficient than the lower eK Wagon.
• Service: Parts are shared with the Nissan Dayz/Roox. Oil filters and brake pads are cheap. The CVT fluid needs regular changes (40k km) to ensure longevity.
• Resale: High demand for sliding door cars in Kenya means it holds value better than standard hatchbacks.

City Only: At 155mm clearance, it is standard for a Kei car. It handles city bumps fine, but crosswinds on the highway can be scary due to the slab-sided design. Drive carefully in open areas like the Rift Valley escarpment.

Features MI-PILOT (Mitsubishi Intelligent Pilot), essentially Nissan's ProPILOT. It includes lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control. It is one of the safest Kei cars you can buy.
