The 2024 Audi S5 is the Swiss Army knife of performance cars. Launched originally in 2007 (defining the modern Audi aesthetic), the current 2nd Generation (B9) was updated in 2020 (B9.5). Available as a Coupe, Cabriolet, or the Kenya-favorite Sportback (5-door), it blends stunning looks with a practical hatchback boot and Quattro all-weather grip. It is fast, discreet, and beautifully built.

Engine type depends on origin:

• 3.0L V6 TFSI (Petrol): 349 HP / 500 Nm. JAPAN/SG/ROW The classic choice. Instant response, great sound, loves to rev.
• 3.0L V6 TDI (Diesel): 341 HP / 700 Nm. UK/EUROPE Found in UK imports. Massive torque wave, incredible highway range, but quieter exhaust note.

• Sportback Utility: The rear hatch opens fully, revealing 480 Litres of space. With rear seats folded, it swallows a bicycle. It is far more practical than a 3 Series sedan.
• Build Quality: Audi interiors are the benchmark. The click of the buttons, the Virtual Cockpit graphics, and the massage seats (optional) make it a lovely place to spend time.

• Consumption: 9–11 km/l (Petrol) vs 13–15 km/l (Diesel). The TDI is the long-distance king.
• Service: The 8-speed Tiptronic (ZF) gearbox is reliable. However, front suspension control arms (multi-link) are complex and wear out on rough Kenyan roads.
• Tyres: 19 or 20-inch wheels look great but are prone to sidewall damage. Keep pressures correct.

Low Clearance: The S5 sits lower than a standard A5. You must be careful on speed bumps. The Quattro system gives immense confidence during the rainy season, but it is not an off-roader. It is a tarmac missile.
