The 2023 Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W223) is simply the best car in the world. First launched in 1972 (W116), the S-Class has always defined the future of the automobile. The current W223 generation (launched 2020) continues this legacy with Digital Light technology, rear-axle steering that makes it turn like a hatchback, and an interior that is more silent than a recording studio. • S 580 (4.0L V8): 503 HP. For the traditionalist who demands V8 smoothness. However, the Inline-6 is so good, the V8 is almost unnecessary.

• OLED Screen: The 12.8-inch central OLED screen floats above the dash. It is brighter and sharper than any LCD. The "Hey Mercedes" assistant can tell which passenger is speaking.
• Pillows: The rear headrests have actual pillows attached. The "Chauffeur Package" moves the front passenger seat forward, creating business-class legroom.

• Consumption: 10–12 km/l (S 450). The EQ Boost system allows for extensive engine-off coasting.
• Service: This is the pinnacle of Mercedes engineering. Maintenance is expensive. Air struts, complex sensors, and the 48V electrical system require expert care.
• Pop-Out Handles: The flush door handles pop out automatically. If the mechanism fails (rare but possible), manual opening is tricky.

Rear-Axle Steering: This optional feature turns the rear wheels up to 10 degrees. It reduces the turning circle by 2 meters, making this huge car as easy to park as a C-Class in Nairobi CBD. Air suspension lifts the car for speed bumps, but beware of the long wheelbase.
