The 2022 Renault Arkana democratized the "Coupe SUV." Origin: South Korea (Busan) - where it is built as the Samsung XM3. Before the Arkana, if you wanted a sloping roofline on an SUV, you had to buy a BMW X4 or Mercedes GLC Coupe. Renault brought that premium look to the mass market.   145 HP. A full hybrid system (non-plug-in). It uses a clever "dog box" transmission without a clutch. It starts in electric mode every time, making it very smooth in traffic.

• Coupe Compromise? Surprisingly, no. The roofline dips late, so rear headroom is decent for anyone under 6ft. The boot is deep and long, though the hybrid version loses some space to the battery.
• Digital Cabin: It features a portrait-style tablet screen (like a Tesla) and fully digital dials on higher trims like the "R.S. Line".

The Easy Link system is crisp and supports wireless Apple CarPlay. The R.S. Line trim adds sporty touches like red stitching, carbon-effect trim, and Alcantara seats, lifting the ambience significantly.

• Consumption: 18–20 km/l (E-Tech Hybrid). The 1.3L Turbo manages a respectable 14 km/l.
• Service: It shares a platform with the Nissan Juke and Renault Captur. Mechanical parts are available, but body panels (especially that rear hatch) will be expensive and hard to find locally.

• Clearance: 200mm is excellent for a crossover. It sits higher than a Honda Vezel.
• Drivetrain: It is strictly FWD. Do not take it into deep mud. It is a "soft-roader" designed for kerbs and speed bumps, not the Aberdares.
