The 2021 Toyota GranAce is the shuttle for the VIP who values space over flash. Launched in 2019, it is based on the sturdy HiAce H300 platform (semi-bonnet design) but transforms it into a luxury liner. Unlike the Alphard which is a minivan, the GranAce is huge—5.3 meters long and nearly 2 meters wide. It uses a **trailing-link rigid axle rear suspension with coil springs** (instead of the HiAce's leaf springs) to provide a ride worthy of a limousine.

One engine, built for longevity:

• 2.8L Diesel Turbo (1GD-FTV): 177 HP / 450 Nm. STANDARD This is the same engine found in the Prado and Hilux. It offers massive torque for hauling heavy loads effortlessly. Unlike the Alphard which uses a V6 petrol or Hybrid, the GranAce relies on pure diesel grunt and efficiency. Pairs with a 6-speed auto.

• Premium Grade (6-Seater): Features four captain's chairs in the rear (2 rows of 2). They are "Executive Power Seats" with ottomans, heating, and wood trim. The ultimate conference room.
• G Grade (8-Seater): A more practical 2-2-2-2 layout (yes, 4 rows). Good for high-end tour operators, but legroom in the 4th row is tight.

• Consumption: 10–12 km/l. Incredible for a vehicle of this size (2.7 tonnes). Diesel is cheaper than petrol, lowering running costs vs the Alphard V6.
• Service: Engine parts (1GD) are available everywhere in Kenya. Body panels are unique to the GranAce/Grandia/Majesty series and will need importing.
