The 2020 Range Rover Evoque (L551) proves that you don't mess with a winning formula—you just perfect it. Launched in 2018 as the 2nd Generation of the car that saved Land Rover (original launched 2011), it looks similar at a glance but is 99% new. It sits on the PTA platform, features flush door handles like the Velar, and introduces Mild Hybrid technology to keep the fuel bills reasonable.

Ingenium engines are the standard:

• D180 (2.0L Diesel): 180 HP / 430 Nm. STANDARD The most popular choice. It balances strong torque for overtaking with decent economy (14 km/l).
• P250 (2.0L Petrol): 249 HP. Smooth and quick (0-100 in 7.5s), but thirsty (8-9 km/l).
• P300e (1.5L PHEV): 309 HP. Plug-in hybrid. Fast and efficient for short city trips, but expensive to buy.

• ClearSight Mirror: The rear-view mirror turns into a screen at the flick of a switch, using a camera on the roof to give you an unobstructed view even if the boot is full.
• Twin Screens: Higher trims get the Touch Pro Duo system (two screens). It looks fantastic but fingerprints are an issue. Rear space is improved over the 1st gen but still cozy.
