The 2019 Suzuki Landy (SC27) is the best-kept secret in the minivan market. Origin: Japan (Kyushu). Why? Because it is 100% a Nissan Serena (C27) with a Suzuki badge. It is built in the same factory, uses the same engine, and has the same parts. The only difference? It is often cheaper to buy at auction because fewer people search for "Suzuki Landy." It is the smart money choice for large families.

It uses Nissan's proven S-Hybrid system:

• 2.0L S-Hybrid (MR20DD) STANDARD
  150 HP / 200 Nm. This is a "Smart Hybrid" system. A small secondary battery powers the electronics and provides a tiny torque assist, but the car cannot drive on electric power alone. It uses an Xtronic CVT.

• The Magic Seat: It features the "Smart Multi-Center Seat" in the second row. It can slide forward to become the driver's armrest or slide back to create an 8-seater bench. Genius.
• Space: It is huge. The floor is low, making it easy for grandmothers to step in. The dual sliding doors (often electric on both sides) are a godsend in tight parking spots.

It uses standard Nissan units. Expect the Intelligent Around View Monitor (360 camera) on higher trims, which is essential for a van this long. The digital instrument cluster is wide and easy to read.

• Consumption: 12–14 km/l. The CVT keeps revs low on the highway.
