The 2019 Honda Acty Van is a legend that was taken from us too soon. Production ended in 2021, making these 2019 models some of the last and most desirable units available. Uniquely, the Acty features a Mid-Engine, Rear-Wheel Drive (MR) layout—the same configuration as a Ferrari. This isn't for racing, but for balance. The engine sits in front of the rear axle, giving it incredible stability when empty, unlike the nose-heavy Suzuki Every. It is the driver's choice of commercial vans.

The Acty stuck to the tried-and-tested E07Z engine until the very end:

• 660cc (E07Z): 45 HP. STANDARD This SOHC 3-cylinder engine is mounted mid-ship. It is quieter than engines placed under the driver's seat (like in the Carry). It pairs with a 3-speed or 4-speed automatic, or a 5-speed manual.

• Flat Floor: The rear seats fold completely flat to create a vast cargo deck. Because the engine is near the rear axle, the floor is slightly higher than a front-drive van, but it is perfectly flat with no humps.
• Cabin Quality: It is utilitarian—vinyl seats, manual windows, and hard plastic. However, the visibility is unmatched due to the large glass area.

• Consumption: 14–16 km/l. It is slightly thirstier than the newer CVT-equipped vans (like the N-Van), but the 4-speed auto is robust.
• Service: The mid-engine layout makes servicing slightly trickier—access is via a panel in the cargo floor. However, Honda parts are durable. The timing belt needs changing every 100,000km.
• Tyres: Uses standard 12-inch LT tyres (145R12). Extremely cheap to replace.

Suspension: The Acty uses a De Dion rear suspension with leaf springs. This unique setup allows the wheels to move independently over bumps while maintaining the strength of a solid axle. It rides surprisingly well on rough roads compared to the bouncy Suzuki Every.

Basic safety—driver airbag and ABS. The short nose offers little crumple zone. Reliability is legendary; many Actys in Japan clock over 300,000km delivering newspapers.
