The 2019 Ferrari GTC4Lusso is the Ferrari you can drive every day. Origin: Italy (Maranello). It is a "Shooting Brake" (a 2-door wagon), seating four adults in genuine comfort. Replaced by the Purosangue SUV, the GTC4Lusso marks the end of an era for low-slung, V12 family haulers. In Kenya, it is the ultimate stealth wealth vehicle—exotic, yet practical enough for a school run to Banda School.

Two Flavors:

• 6.3L V12 (F140) STANDARD
  680 HP / 697 Nm. This is the one to get. It comes with the complex 4RM-S (4-Wheel Drive, 4-Wheel Steering) system. The AWD system uses a separate 2-speed gearbox on the front of the engine. It is engineering madness, but it works brilliantly in the rain.
• GTC4Lusso T (3.9L V8 Turbo)
  602 HP. Rear-wheel drive only. Lighter, more agile, and better fuel economy, but it lacks the V12 scream and AWD grip.

• Dual Cockpit: The dashboard features a "Dual Cockpit" design, separating the driver and passenger. The passenger gets their own display to view speed and rpm.
• Space: The rear seats are individual buckets separated by a center console. 6-foot adults fit comfortably. The boot (450 Litres) is usable for a weekend trip.

It uses a 10.25-inch touchscreen that is surprisingly responsive. Apple CarPlay is available. The Manettino dial on the steering wheel allows you to switch between "Wet", "Sport", and "ESC OFF" modes instantly.

• Consumption: 4–5 km/l. It has a massive 91-litre tank for a reason.
• Service: Covered by Ferrari's 7-Year Maintenance program. However, the PTU (Power Transfer Unit) for the 4WD system is known to be a weak point and expensive to replace out of warranty.

• Suspension Lift: The optional nose lift is essential for Nairobi speed bumps. Without it, the long front overhang will scrape.
• Bumpy Road Mode: The button on the steering wheel softens the magnetic dampers, making it surprisingly compliant on uneven tarmac.

It is a Ferrari; you don't buy it for safety ratings. Reliability of the V12 is legendary, but the electronics and the unique 4WD system require specialist care.

Who is this for? The billionaire with a family who wants to share the joy of 335 km/h. Who is it NOT for? Those who prefer the high seating position of an SUV.
