The Big Picture
The 2021 BMW M4 (G82) is the most controversial M car in history, and that is exactly why you want one. Origin: Germany. First Generation: 2014 (F82). Current Generation: 2nd Generation (G82, launched 2021). The massive vertical kidney grille sparked endless debates, but behind it lies the S58 engine, a masterpiece of engineering. This generation is larger, heavier, but significantly faster and more grippy than its predecessor, especially with the available xDrive (AWD) system.

The S58 engine is the heart of the beast:
- M4 (Standard): 473 HP / 550 Nm. PURIST Available with a 6-speed Manual transmission. It is slower (0-100 in 4.2s) but offers a pure driving connection. RWD only.
- M4 Competition: 503 HP / 650 Nm. The monster. 8-speed Automatic (ZF) only. Available in RWD or xDrive (AWD). The xDrive version hits 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds.
Interior & Practicality
- M Carbon Buckets: The optional carbon bucket seats are a work of art. They are lightweight, have holes for a racing harness, and a bizarre carbon piece between your legs. Warning: They are difficult to get in and out of.
- Drift Analyser: The infotainment system includes a "Drift Analyser" that rates your slides out of 5 stars. Only use this on a track, please.

Suitability for Kenyan Roads
Dangerously Low: With 120mm of clearance and a carbon fiber front splitter, the M4 is allergic to Kenyan speed bumps. You must crawl over them diagonally. The suspension is firm, even in "Comfort" mode. It shines on the Expressway but suffers on Waiyaki Way service lanes.
