Mitsubishi Pajero is a compact SUV with five doors and a seating capacity for five or seven and whose manufacturer is Mitsubishi Japan.

Mitsubishi Pajero first year of inception is October, 1981 in Tokyo Motor Show. Since then the SUV has been through four generations.

Mitsubishi Pajero has a 4WD drive train. This makes it suitable to go off road comfortably as it is in the urban areas too. Its single shell body offers great rigidity without causing an increase in weight, hence reducing chances of losing control. They also come with both Diesel and Petrol engines with a choice of either manual or automatic.

Mitsubishi exterior has a sporty stance and exudes both capability and confidence. It has features such as roof mounted antenna and coloured body bumpers.

Mitsubishi Pajero has safety features such as a 7 SRS airbag system. This includes 2 front airbags in the driver and passenger seat, side airbags, curtain airbags and driver’s knee airbag. This ensures protection in case of an accident.

In addition it has an Electronic Brake-force Distribution [EBD] to add braking force to the rear wheels especially when there are passengers or cargo thus enabling faster braking even when the road is difficult.

The Mitsubishi Pajero is in its 4^th Generation since the first year of inception in 1981.

1^st Generation – (LO40;NA,NB,NC,ND,NE,NF,NG; 1982-1990)

This first generation was rolled out in October 1981, launched in May 1982. It was initially a 3-door, short-wheelbase model. In January 1983, Pajero became a sport car. In Feb 1983, Mitsubishi introduced a long wheelbase, 5-door model and was now available with a choice of either petrol or diesel engine.

2^nd Generation – (V20-/ NH, NJ, NK, NL; 1991-1999)

This was debuted in January 1991. The Pajeros had larger bodies in different versions; Metal top, Canvas top convertible, semi high roof wagon and high roof wagon. A Super select 4WD was also introduced.

3^rd Generation - (V60-/ NM, NP; 1999-2006)

he third generation was unveiled in 1999.  It was redesigned with a lower and monocoque construction to increase rigidity and improve cabin strength.

4^th Generation-(V80-/NS, NT, NW, NX; 2006-2021)

The 4^th generation was unveiled on 30^th September 2006 at the Paris Motor Show. It has a revised interior and exterior styling and SRS airbags. The super select 4WD system has improved stability and traction control and an EBD.

It faced 2 major facelifts. The first facelift was in 2012 and the 2^nd in 2015. The Mitsubishi Pajero was discontinued from the Japan market in August 2019. This luxurious SUV has ceased production since March 2021.
