The BMW Mini (F55/F56 Generation) is the definitive premium small car in Kenya. Originally relaunched by BMW in 2001, the 2019 model features the iconic "Union Jack" tail lights (LCI Update) and a refined dual-clutch transmission. It appeals to the driver who wants the parking ease of a Vitz but demands the build quality and status of a German luxury car.

The Mini lineup can be confusing. The "One" is the base, "Cooper" is the mid-range, and "Cooper S" is the performance model.

• 1.5L Turbo Petrol (Code: B38) RECOMMENDED
  Found in the **Cooper**. Produces 134 HP. It offers the best balance of "Go-Kart" handling and daily fuel efficiency.
• 2.0L Turbo Petrol (Code: B48)
  Found in the **Cooper S**. Produces 189 HP. It is seriously fast but consumes significantly more fuel and attracts higher insurance premiums.

• Design: The cabin is unique, featuring a large circular LED ring in the center console that changes color. Toggle switches replace standard buttons, giving it a retro cockpit feel.

The 2019 model uses the 7-speed DCT (Dual Clutch) gearbox, which is more reliable than older transmissions. However, engine mounts on the B38 engine are known to wear out prematurely on rough Kenyan roads.
