The S58 engine is the heart of the beast:

• M4 (Standard): 473 HP / 550 Nm. PURIST Available with a 6-speed Manual transmission. It is slower (0-100 in 4.2s) but offers a pure driving connection. RWD only.
• M4 Competition: 503 HP / 650 Nm. The monster. 8-speed Automatic (ZF) only. Available in RWD or xDrive (AWD). The xDrive version hits 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds.
