MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER PHEV is a compact five door SUV whose manufacturer is Mitsubishi Motors Japan. This is a third generation of the Outlander whose year of inception was 2012.
PHEV is an acronym for Plug In-Hybrid Electric Vehicle. In short, it’s a hybrid vehicle whose battery is easily recharged using an external charging port.
This all new technology from the Mitsubishi garage boosts an all electric range, on full charge, of 60.2Kms. The battery is a set of 12kWh Lithium-ion pack located below the passenger compartment.
For added safety for the Lithium-Ion battery, It’s housed in Dust/Water proof casing positioned between the front and rear axles.
This one of a kind car comes equipped with two charging ports. One is for regular charging using the 12Volts charger that takes approximately 4 hours to full charge and the other port for quick charging taking approximately 25 Minutes to 80% charge.

-The driving is done by two electric motors in Eco-friendly mode. -In this mode, the car is 100% Electric with zero emission. |
-This is used when the battery ‘juice’ levels are low and again when more power is need for extra acceleration. -Both motors are powered by the engine powered generator and battery. -So the vehicle uses all the available resources i.e. The engine, the Engine powered generator and the electric motors. |
-The engine is equipped with MIVEC Innovative Valve Timing Electric Control. -In parallel Hybrid mode, the MIVEC continuously varies the intake valve timing with respect to the engine speed. - This is the most economical drive mode and mostly used on the high speed motor ways. |
The drive train is cleverly programmed to automatically select one of these three drive trains. It chooses the drive mode that is most economical with optimal efficiency and performance.
